Jules Johnstone, AMFT

I felt called to take part in social work and graduated with a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University, with a focus on trauma. I am further trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy for those seeking an alternative to traditional talk therapy. In 2019, I began working as a crisis counselor at Peace Over Violence, a non-profit agency dedicated to providing intervention and prevention services for survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, and stalking. My training has provided me a comprehensive understanding of behavioral and neurobiological responses to acute or chronic trauma. I believe my role as a clinician is to help guide you through the healing process in a way that feels safe and supportive, with collaboration, education, and coping tools. We will work together as a team to build manageable goals and achieve them.

Mental health wellness is a right that each person deserves, and I look forward to joining you on that journey.

For those who have experienced trauma, life can seem daunting and overwhelming, but trauma does not have to dictate a person's life.  With the right tools, trauma can transform into healing and growth. I believe in the power of healing through the therapeutic process, empathy, and kindness. I work with individuals and couples related to anxiety, depression, and relational issues as a result of domestic violence, sexual assault, or childhood abuse.
