Winnie Nakitare, APCC
I am an Associate Professional Clinical Counselor with an MA in Forensic Psychology and a passion for mental health wellness. I believe beginning therapy is one of the bravest journeys one can embark on and thus, I welcome you. In the therapy room, I employ different tailored techniques to make my clients feel comfortable because I understand the therapeutic journey can sometimes be overwhelming.
My training has taught me the valuable art of patience, cultural sensitivity, and the importance of creating a strong therapeutic alliance to help clients overcome the challenges they are seeking help with. I like to work collaboratively with my clients and encourage them to explore and reflect on potential solutions or alternatives. I enjoy working with young adults but also welcome older individuals. I understand how one’s past experiences can affect the present and make it feel crippling, so I encourage clients to explore their beliefs and thoughts to change their mindset and boost positivity.
